This morning I woke up to grey skies, rain, and also I was excited about it being conference weekend! I look forward to this weekend for weeks, and even though we really don't get to watch all the sessions during the day live because of the time difference, I can't wait to listen, watch, and learn.
I saw this meme on Pinterest and had to copy it. I really love it. I so believe this, that we can receive the word of the Lord that is meant just for us.
I still remember the first conference when I felt this, and when I really fell in love with conference and all that I learned from it. I was 19, living at home for a semester working, it was October 1999. I went to the church to watch one of the Saturday sessions of conference and Elder Holland gave this talk, and I felt like I was hanging on his every word. I received so much direction and answers to prayers from that one talk. That is when I started my semi unhealthy infatuation and obsession with Elder Holland. No just kidding. Okay maybe not all the way kidding, but that is when I started loving conference. Oh, and I kinda love that I loved that talk before it was trendy. Just sayin.
This morning while Todd was still sleeping, and the boys were playing nicely, I slipped out and ran to Tesco and grabbed some doughnuts and strawberry and chocolate milk for the boys, and pain au chocolat and almond croissants for Todd and I. This has kinda become a tradition since we moved here. A fun little Saturday morning thing. I actually really love being 2 minutes from a store. Now, it is the tiniest store, with limited selection, AND the smallest isles known to man which makes for horrible trips with all three kids, BUT...I still love running out quickly if we need something.
We mostly just hung around the flat today and relaxed and got ready for conference. We went to Wagamamas tonight for dinner (it's getting semi embarrassing how much we go there!) and then came home and the boys went to bed. Todd and I watched the Saturday Morning session, it was so good. Again, Elder Holland came through.
Now I am exhausted and ready for bed. Can't wait for more conference goodness tomorrow!
