Day Sixty-One: "You make me feel like I am living a teenage dream..."

Friday, May 16, 2014

So, today is our 10 year anniversary! I cannot believe that it has been 10 years. I don't feel old enough to have this big of an anniversary. I still feel 24. And then on the other hand I can't believe it has only been 10 years. I have a foggy remembrance of what life was like before we were married, and it seems like we have been together since the beginning of time!

One thing I am sure of is that we both have grown so much over these last 10 years, through all the great times and hard times.  As I look back over the last 10 years I see where we have been, where life has taken us, where we are going now, and how we have been so blessed with such amazing experiences!  I love our little family that we have been blessed with, each of our boys with their own personalities, who bring such love and joy into our home. Life is good, and I am so grateful I married such a wonderful man. I am a lucky girl.

Speaking of lucky, I am also lucky that this is my view for a good part of my day, everyday. That is one cute little head!

Today was good. Tagg is swimming now for PE at school, and he is loving it. Thatcher also is swimming, but he swims on Friday. They both have received comments about how great of swimmers they are. Never mind that these two boys have basically LIVED in the pool from May-September for the last four years in Texas!

Tonight we got a sitter and went out to celebrate the big 1-0. We got recommendations from some friends to try Barbecoa, a Jamie Oliver restaurant that overlooks St. Pauls, so we thought we would give it a whirl. I am slightly obsessed with Jamie Oliver, so I was excited.

It was DELICIOUS. Every bite we kept commenting on how it was some of the best food we had ever ate. It was a BBQ place, a nice nod to Texas, but sorry Texas, the best BBQ I have ever eaten was in London. No joke. It was awesome.

Our view from our table, not too shabby!

Our appetizer and the best ribs that have ever crossed my lips. No lie.

Barbecoa is for lovers...

After dinner we walked around St. Paul's and I sang the lyrics to "Feed the Birds". I am not kidding. How could you not?

The roses are all in bloom here in London right now, and they are so incredibly beautiful.

"Early each day to the steps of Saint Paul's
The little old bird woman comes
In her own special way to the people
She calls, "Come, buy my bags full of crumbs"

We had a great time, and it was a wonderful anniversary. We are home now and I am tired, all that walking around St. Paul's in shoes that weren't completely broke in did me in!
