I have been kinda dreading today. Which sounds snob-fest, especially since we came to Ireland today. But can I just say I am tired of packing up my whole family, wrestling kids to the airport and on a plane, dealing with {sometimes} rude Europeans #sorrynotsorry, and then getting in exhausted to a hotel and crashing? Okay fine. It does sound snotty. But that is how I felt today. I'll own that. I was tired before we even started, but all in all it turned out to be a good travel day!
I think that one of the reasons I was so anxious about today was because every single time I have looked at the news over the last few days I have seen planes dropping from the sky. Ummm what? What time are we living in? It freaks me out! I don't like flying a lot anyway, then on top of all of that, there are planes being SHOT out of the sky!? No thanks. Too much for this anxious mama. So after I had a good freak out about it, I had to say a prayer, do some deep breathing, and have a little faith.
After spending all morning doing laundry, picking up, and then packing the whole fam, we took a cab to the airport. We then went through all the wonderfulness of checking in, going through security, and waiting for seriously 40 minutes in line to board the plane. Ryanair. Gotta love them. You can get cheap flights for sure, but their customer service is lacking. Wait a minute, what I am saying, there is not customer service here in Europe!! I forgot. Silly me!
We finally got on board and it was me with the two big boys in a row, and Todd and Tate across the aisle. After a minute the flight attendant came up to us and told us that Todd had to move with Tate back a few rows because there was another baby in his row. We weren't happy about that since we booked these tickets sitting all together obviously very much on purpose. So she got snappy with us, and then I had visions of us all getting kicked off the plane because we were arguing back with her. Finally she just told us to switch seats. Which we did. And then I realized I should've just taken Tate with me, but now Todd had Tate AND the two big boys. Ha ha ha. Oh well. Se la vie...boys with boys right?
Want to see how hard he had it with all the boys by himself in a row?
That's right. All smiles and games and giggles over there. Like I said, boys with boys. They are all good that way!
We got to Dublin late and checked into the Westin Dublin. The hotel was nice and it was refreshing to have some American amenities.
Here are the boys making themselves right at home while Dad checks us in.
I love the flower arrangements in the Westins. I know I am weird. But I do.
We got the boys off to bed and finally I can relax and be actually super excited that we are in IRELAND! I've always wanted to come here! We are excited to wake up tomorrow and see Dublin. I am now going to eat all four of these yummy truffles that the Westin left us as a welcome gift, because I need some chocolate after today.
