I had so much to do today, but it was so gorgeous outside and I was invited by some friends to trek over to Holland Park for the morning, so I threw out my all my cares and stress and went!
Amy and I headed over in her car which was nice not to have to worry about how I would get there. At one point on the drive over her two kids and Tate were all screaming at the same time in the backseat, and all we could do was laugh. Got to love it.
We spent the morning with some other moms from our ward at the park. Holland Park is gorgeous! I am more and more amazed with the beauty of London, especially the parks. Tate loved playing in the sand at the kids section of the park. He did so well today even though he skipped his much loved 2.5 hour morning nap.
After we left the kids section, and on our way back to the car we walked through the Japanese Garden part of the park. Oh my gosh, it was so beautiful! On our way in we ran into this guy...
He decided to show off a little for us by opening his feathers up...talk about peacocking!
This is the entrance to the Japanese Garden, seriously breathtaking!
The colors and the fresh smell of flowers and listening to the birds sing, it was picture perfect. I so want to bring Todd and the older boys back here soon.
On our way back we met another show off...
Tate was pretty interested in the peacocks, which I thought was funny. They are beautiful birds.
When we got home I put Tate down for a nap, and locked myself in the kitchen with my favorite itunes play list and finished my freezer meals, made dinner for tonight, and then deep cleaned the kitchen. G-L-A-M-E-R-O-U-S.
I picked up the boys from school, came home and did homework, and then when Todd got home we all sat down to Chili for dinner. After the boys were in bed, Todd and I then spent the next few hours cleaning our entire flat in preparations for my Dad who got in late.
While we were blowing up the air mattress for my Dad I realized that I didn't have extra pillows, sheets, or blankets. Ay. I forget about these things since we have them all back at home in the USofA. Also, no Walmart or Target to run to. Good thing I have nice, sweet friends who are willing to loan you these sorts of things at 11:00pm. Todd ran over and grabbed some from Amy across the street, and while on his way back saw my Dad getting out of the Taxi.
It was great to see my Dad, and he is jet lagged and culture shocked. I have all of the morning tomorrow to show him the ropes and get him orientated before we leave tomorrow evening. It's going to be crazy, but we will make it work!
